ISO 14001 Certification
ISO 140001 is an international standard that defines the framework by which companies develop their environmental management systems. When a company achieves ISO 14001 Certification, its partners, customers and vendors are assured that it is committed to protecting the environment.
The standard is designed to identify environmental impact. In meeting the standard, a company sets targets for reducing that impact and implements a company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) to achieve them. The EMS covers areas such as environmental labeling and auditing, facilities planning and product life cycle assessment.
Ricoh's EMS influences all Ricoh Group products, plants and processes.
Ricoh has set ambitious goals and is meeting them by weaving the EMS into every phase of design, manufacturing, distribution and recycling. The EMS engages everyone in the company. All employees at every level have a role to play, in ways large and small, every day.
The result has been industry-leading levels of resource recovery, including parts and materials, at Zero Waste to Landfill plants around the world. In the U.S., that includes participating in the EPA's WasteWi$e program, as well as its energy-saving Green Lights program.
